How did you get into volleyball?

    My mom signed me up to play with SYA Youth League and I have been playing ever since!

How long have you been playing volleyball?

    Since I was 8 or 9

How did you find VAVA? 

    Coach Brooke, we used to play club at CNU together and she connected me to Coach Sam 

How did you get into coaching?

    I helped out at a VAVA clinic in 2022 and began as an assistant coach for the 15s team for the 22/23 season!

What do you enjoy most about coaching?

    Empowering players to advocate for themselves, and I love seeing a player's confidence increase throughout the season!

What’s your coaching style? 

     My coaching style is still evolving, as it should be! I think it is important to guide the players to be decision makers and not only order takers.   

What’s one piece of advice you always give players?

    Find at least one person on your team that holds you accountable and vice versa so when either of you are in a funk either physically or mentally on the court, that person can help get you out of it with either a “get your head in the game” or “you’ve got the next one” - every player is different and needs a different kind of support so find an accountabilibuddy that knows what you need.

    Sushi!

Favorite movie/Tv show?

    My favorite comfort shows would be Friends or New Girl, and I really love cheesy rom coms 

Dogs or Cats? 

    Both, but I currently have 2 cats (Marley & Kita)

Favorite color?

    blues/greens

Morning person or night owl? 

    Night owl despite my best efforts to be a morning person 

Favorite holiday destination? 

    I prefer to travel to places that I have never been but if I had to pick, you could ship me off to Northern Italy (to the dolomites) and I'd be a happy camper

Hobbies besides volleyball? 

    Great question, I want to learn how to crochet but that is a work in progress..
