What years were you part of the club?

    I think I played just 17s and 18s at vava

What originally drew you to join the club?
    I was drawn to the club by the positive coaching environment, and how it gave the biggest opportunity for me to grow as a player and as a leader.

What did being part of this club mean to you?
    Being part of this club meant I was surrounded by girls who loved volleyball and wanted to improve their personal skills and our team performance. I also had coaches who truly wanted to see me improve because they knew I loved the sport and they wanted to foster that drive.

What is your favorite memory from your time at VAVA?

    My favorite memory is when the whole team and coaches pitched in to buy an inflatable costume from Spirit Halloween and let our setter practice in it (it wasn't pretty)

What advice would you give your younger self when you first joined the club?
    I would tell her that she was in a positive environment with people rooting for her, so it's okay to grow, take risks, and build skills that you're not confident in

What have you been up to since graduating?
    Since graduating, I attended LSU, earned my bachelor's degree, and am now at the NIH on a research fellowship (and coaching!)

How has volleyball stayed a part of your life?
Coaching

 

Now that you are back coaching, what does it feel like seeing the next generation of players?
     It's wonderful to see the next generation of players because they are passionate about the sport, always challenging themselves, and uplifting their teammates. The sport can be mentally tough, and it's inspiring to watch our players overcome mental and physical challenges in pursuit of becoming better athletes and teammates.

    Chips and queso

     Favorite movie is Ratatouille, favorite show is Psych

    Night owl

Hobbies besides volleyball?
    I like doing puzzles, watching stand up comedy shows, and learning about geology (that was my minor in college!)
